November 2010 - Holiday Season

As the holiday season is now in full swing and the 2010 growing season is winding down, my thoughts are already gearing up for the 2011 growing season. Winter time, for me, is a time to reflect on many issues.

October 2010 - Fall To Do's

Fall is winding down with thoughts of ghouls, goblins and carving that perfect pumpkin. Keep in mind that several items still need attention in the landscape.

September 2010 - Fall is for planting

It seems like fall may actually be here. Most of September has felt more like July with temperatures in the mid 90's. But now it finally looks as though the recent rains have brought in cooler temperatures as October approaches.

August 2010 - Has the weather affected your lawn?

As fall approaches this year I think many people including myself can say fall can not get here soon enough! This summer came with conditions that we have not seen for over two years in our area including extreme heat indexes above 110 degrees, high humidity and lack of rainfall.

July 2010 - Survival of the fittest...

As July winds down this popular phrase really is fitting. The July of 2010 has definitely seen its fair share of heat, humidity and dry weather. Heat indexes of over 110 with very little precipitation have scorched lawns and landscapes all over town. These conditions along with the high humidity have been ideal conditions for Brown Patch as well.

June 2010 - Do as I say, not as I do!!!

Remember hearing that from your parents, a teacher, or someone with experience? That thought definitely crossed my mind as I mowed my lawn the other day.
