Retaining Walls

They say that form follows function and that couldn’t be more true when it comes to retaining walls. The function of a retaining wall is to support the soil on sloped topography. This slope may be a natural feature of your property or a man-made landscape berm but whichever the case, if you’re wanting to lessen or end the slope, a retaining wall is almost always necessary.

Retaining walls can take many forms depending on the “look” that you’re after. They can be very utilitarian (engineered of plain concrete) and can also be very informal, using natural materials that blend with the surroundings. There are many new materials that fall somewhere between these extremes, available in many colors and textures, that can compliment any home.
